iPhone XS and Apple Watch 4

Apple Watch 4

As seen in the image above unearthed by 9to5Mac, the Apple Watch Series 4 will pack a bigger display and smaller bezels. There’s also a small hole underneath the Digital Crown which is probably for a microphone. Hopefully, it still packs the same waterproof rating as the Apple Watch Series 3.

The Digital Crown has also been tweaked with a round inner outline instead of a full red dot. Most of the other design elements look the same. The Apple Watch Series 4 will come in a gold color option and use the same bands as the previous three versions.

Apple Watch 4 price

There’s no word on the Apple Watch Series 4's price, but it’s likely to be around the same as the Apple Watch 3 currently is, meaning a starting price of around £329 / $329 / AU$459 for the smaller 38mm version.

iPhone XS

9to5Mac was able to grab images of both new products from Apple’s website today. True to the rumors, it looks like a gold version of the new iPhone will be coming out this fall along with a larger screen size version.

Other new features are expected to include improved cameras, an A12 processor, more RAM and other beefed up internal specs. Apple is also supposedly going to announce a 6.1-inch iPhone that will be cheaper than the two iPhone Xs models.

The official unveiling of the iPhone Xs and Apple Watch Series 4 will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on September 12. As usual, Cult of Mac will be here live blogging all the action, so come back for an in depth look at the new goodies.

iPhone 2018 prices

The iPhone X was positioned by Apple as a premium iPhone with a premium price - starting at £999/$999, while the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were priced at £699/$699 and £799/$799. Will the 2018 models follow suit?

Respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's first research note since departing KGI Securities in April suggested that Apple will be offering a "more aggressive" pricing strategy this year.

He believes that Apple is concerned about "the negative impact of a higher price," but also that it has an improved cost structure thanks to assembly yield improvements. He suggests the following prices:
  • 5.8in "iPhone 9" will be $699-$849.
  • 6.5in "iPhone XS Plus" will cost $999-$1,299.
  • 6.1in "iPhone XS" LCD model will be $899-$1199.
